Job Description – Welder / Fabricator (SGE SEAL LTD)
(Permanent or Part-Time)
An opportunity for a welder / fabricator to join the team at SGE (SEAL) LTD – an enthusiastic and motivated person with experience in fabricating steelwork; Previous projects included architectural steel items such as balustrades, Juliet balconies, staircases, gates, and railings, alongside beam/column fabrication for building firms locally.
This role will suit a reliable person who takes pride in their work, able to work well within the existing small but growing and supportive team.
Hours: Full or Part-time, working week Monday – Friday (negotiable)
Day-to-Day Duties include:
- Fabricate and assemble metal structures.
- Perform welding tasks using stick, MIG welding equipment to a high standard. TIG would be a bonus.
- Be able to comfortably read and interpret technical/engineering drawings to determine project specifications.
- Ideally be coded or be of a coded standard, with a good knowledge of the industry.
- Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure adherence to standards.
- Ability to work on own initiative and produce a good standard of workmanship.
- Occasional assistance in delivery and installation of manufactured items.
- Work in a professional, clean, organised and tidy manner.
- Health & Safety aware within the working environment.
- Ensure work environment is kept clean and tidy, that tools/consumables etc., are correctly stored.
- Identify any opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of team processes.
- Represent SGE SEAL LTD in a positive way and maintain good communications with customers and the team.
- Escalate as appropriate situations where customer satisfaction is essential.
- Complete company administration in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain all equipment, tools and company property in good and working order.
- Utilise all Personal Protective Equipment as necessary and utilise hand tools and mechanical knowledge to complete tasks efficiently.
The successful applicant will have most of the following attributes:
- Proficiency in stick, MIG welding, oxy cutting equipment
- Experience welding non-ferrous metals useful but non-essential
- Ability to use power tools efficiently
- Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations
- Mechanical knowledge for equipment operation and maintenance
Please note, a weld test will be required as part of the interview process where you
would need to bring your own PPE (welding mask, safety boots, overalls).

Experience: Fabricating for minimum 1 year (5 years preferred)
Language: English (required)
Licence: Driving Licence (required)
A clean driving licence preferred as site work installing also offered to our customer base requiring use of a company vehicle occasionally.

SGE (SEAL) LTD has been established since 1958, a family run business based near Sevenoaks in Kent, providing steel fabrication and welding facilities together with dairy engineering offering a wide range of products and services for the farm and dairy industry.
Our fabrication workshop has produced staircases, beams and frames for local builders, bespoke gates and railings for clients alongside general engineering and manufacturing agricultural equipment.
